Nashik (PTI): The condition of 36 children, who were admitted to a local hospital in Sinnar following an alleged overdose of anti-intestinal worm medicine, administered to them by under a health drive, is improving, doctors attending on them said on Saturday.
The children aged betwen one and six were admitted on Friday night to Yashwant hospital, after they complained of giddiness, vomitting and weak eyesight, sources said.
The minors were given the medicine under a drive undertaken by a primary health care center at Ujani village in Sinnar, they said.
Nearly, 20 children were discharged on Saturday after the treatment while remaining are likely to go home this evening, Dr R D Naikwadi told PTI.
According to sources, the problem started a few hours after a total of 83 children were given the doses.
Zila Parishad president Radhakrishnan Sonawane, Sinnar Taluk health department officials visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of children
