There has been an increasing interest among people from different walks of life to understand the nuances, methods and tools that would enable a faster growth of social development of our country. With good governance gaining importance, it has become imperative for most organizations to analyze and report on their triple bottom line impact. Social Accounting and A is a means whereby organizations operating in the community, social economy and public sectors report on their social, environmental and economic performance in a simple and sustainable manner.
Social Accounting and Audit (SAA) is a framework which allows an organization to develop a process whereby it can account for its social performance and draw up an action plan to improve. It builds on existing documentation and reporting and helps organizations understand their impact on the community and to be accountable to their key stakeholders. Social Audit Network (SAN), a UK based Organization, is a pioneer in the field of SAA. (
The Master Class is a 2-day Workshop meant to orient professionals on
  • Methods used for processing and preparing Social Accounts
  • Standardized formats for presenting the accounts
  • The process of getting them audited
This will enable in building the social balance sheet for the organization.
The Workshop is meant for people working in NGOs, CSR Initiatives, independent consultants as well as government officials. It is especially targeted at people wishing to facilitate the process within their organizations and to enable the design and development of the Social Accounting and Audit practice

 Centre for Social Initiative and Management (CSIM) established in 2001, is a project of the Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhani Trust based out of Chennai. Being pioneers in Social entrepreneurship education in India, CSIM offers a full time and a part time course which promotes the concepts of Social Entrepreneurship. Many practitioners and individuals interested in social development have benefited from our course all over India. CSIM has its centre in Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore and Mumbai. It is also the knowledge partner of Social Audit Network, UK for its India chapter. The CSIM-SAN India chapter has facilitated about 10 organsiations across India to prepare its social accounts and have it audited by the SAN, UK auditors over the last one year. (
